Dr. Teresa, You're Wanted on the Psyco wing

Man, if only I'd known. All it takes is this and this and you're cured from arthritis. Gee Whiz, if only the Mayo Clinic would have called her.

Who are the Europeans Protecting?

Hat Tip (BMEWS)

We've been hearing the reports over the past few days that the investigators are digging up mass graves with thousands of poor souls buried there. Women still clutching their babies when they were shot in the head, yet....

The Europeans, he said, were staying away as the evidence might be used eventually to put Saddam Hussein to death.

As Vilmar asks: Imagine being so blinded by idealism that you actually do what these Europeans did.

Bill's Book is Coming Soon

Eject! Eject! Eject!

I will be spending this weekend getting the essays into PDF format. My publisher says I will need about 20 days from the delivery of those files before we can start shipping Silent America. I have seen samples of both their hardcover and softcover work, and it is absolutely gorgeous. Their fullfillment system seems simple, inexpensive and reliable. The book will also be available through Amazon and you will be able to order them through large retailers, as well as though this site. Much more on this in the next few weeks.
Woo Hoo! I'm getting on the list!

My Cousin

I just reunited (electronically) with a long-lost cousin. He is serving in Samara, Iraq with The Big Red One. Will provide anti-liberal, anti-anti-american posts as possible.

Clarification

I will not, except for typographical errors, go back and edit a previous post. I figure that whatever I put out, if it needs to be corrected, should remain published and be corrected with another psot. Such is the case here.

In this post, I may have left the impression that I believe Conservatives are Christian and Liberals are not, and that is the cause of the great divide. Let me clarify as that is not the case. What I think is that, as a nation, we are loosing the Judeo-Christian moral basis for living, and the left has jsut lost it farther and faster than the right. That's not to say the right is not loosing it as well, just at a slower pace.

I believe that as a culture, we are loosing our compass, but generally speaking, those on the left are father down that road.

Story

Columbus, OH
A Russell County fifth-grader is convinced bones found in her home last weekend belong to a mysterious friend who told her about being chopped up years ago.

Stephanie said a black girl in a white dress started visiting her room when she was about 5 years old. The girl was friendly, but she told Stephanie a horrible story.

"She told me that somebody put her in the floor," Stephanie said. "She said he had a mask on, and that he chopped her up. She didn't know who the person was, because he had a mask on."

How's about we just burn that ole' trailer? Waddayasay?

Heinz Kerry Says Husband Would Be Cautious
McALLEN, Texas - The wife of presidential candidate John Kerry told a receptive audience in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas that Kerry would seek out all other options before going to war.

Uh, Teresa, we are already in a war. You know? The War on Terror?

"John will never send a boy or girl in a uniform anywhere in the world because of our need and greed for oil," Teresa Heinz Kerry told about 1,200 supporters at the McAllen Civic Center.

Implying, of course, that is the reason the "boys and girls" (they're men and women you high-browed lump) are there now. I wonder why, if all this Iraqi oil is now flowing to the US, I am paying nearly $2.00 per gallon for gas? Makes you wonder what Halliburton does with all that money.

She said her husband, as president, would be able to approach the families of slain soldiers and say, "'I did everything I could to prevent this, I'm sorry.' "

Right after I voted for sending the boys and girls over there.

Speaking at the rally, Heinz Kerry criticized President Bush's working relationships with other nations. "Diplomacy is not about, `I'm telling you.' Diplomacy is about, `what do you think?'" Heinz Kerry said. "If you cannot have respect for the other side, you cannot have diplomacy."

Diplomacy? I think: "Either you're with us, or you're against us" is pretty diplomatic. Puts everything in its proper pespective.

Heinz Kerry, switching to Spanish Pig Latin, encouraged supporters to go to the polls.

Bush campaign spokeswoman Jennifer Miller said Sunday that the Democratic nominee is out of step with Texas.

Ya think?

Dems Oppose Plan to Air Anti-Kerry Film

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Democratic Party and 18 senators are objecting to a broadcasting company's plan to air on 62 TV stations a critical documentary about John Kerry's anti-war activities after he returned home from Vietnam three
decades ago.

Oh, please don't show anything about our boy back then.

The Democratic National Committee planned to file a complaint with the Federal Election Commission on Tuesday contending that Sinlair's airing of the film should be considered an illegal in-kind contribution to President Bush's campaign. Also, 18 Democratic senators sent a letter to the Federal Communication Commission asking that it investigate whether Sinclair's plan was an improper use of public airwaves.

Yeah, that darn conservative media is at it again.

However, Sinclair's Hyman said, "The documentary is just a part of a special news event that we're putting together. We've invited one person to be a guest. That's Senator John Kerry." The company posted a note on its Web site Monday afternoon urging people to call Kerry's headquarters to urge his participation.

Ooops. Sorry John, we tried to get you on to answer the charges. Guess you were busy.

The Moral Compass and the Great Divide

I've been pondering this whole idea of "The Great Divide" for a while now. It has been expressed that Conservative vs Liberal is like Adult vs Teenager, or Responsible vs Irrisponsible. I have been thinking along these lines as well, but if I look at it from a Christian perspective, it takes on a different twist.

I've been doing a study on the moder culture and how it is influencing the church, and I think it parallels this election cycle more than any other time. As Christians, we are taught to "Be in the world, but not of the world", yet, there is more and more of "the world" in the church today. We have watered down the message of sin to make it more palatable to the culture. We have watered down the message of judgement to make it more palatable to the culture. We are teaching that God is a great grandfather who pats us on the head when we sin and tells us "it OK, I understand."

God does understand that we are siners, that's why He provided the only means to salvation through Jesus. It's not that sin is OK, but rather that sin is here with us and we have no way out save His saving grace. What does this have to do with "The Great Divide"? Everything.

I see the left being more and more out of control morally. It seems that the ends are justifying the means in more and more cases. We have union thugs rampaging against a Republican office. We have thugs tearing up a little girl's sign, we have a man getting slugged, and many, many more. I believe there is a moral declination happening that is spiraling faster and faster and has no way, other than Divine intervention, to stop. The Left has told us for decades now that morals are relative. That the concept of "right" and "wrong" are outdated and antiquated. Rather, what's right for me, as long as it harms no one, is right. If it's wrong for you? Well, that's your business.

Without a standard moral compass, where can the culture be going? A ship without a rudder still sails, but it is erradic and open to be blown by whatever wind comes. This is how I see the Left. They are without a solid moral compass. Yes, they have a compass, but it is not standard, it is based upon eeach one's indivisual "feelings" and "experiences".

Here's an example. I was debating with a liberal friend the concept of right and wrong. She stated that her guiding philosophy was "to do no harm to anyone". My natural question was: "How do you know when you're doing harm?" She was incredulous. Of course, everyone knows what "right" and "wrong" is. So I asked if telling a woman she looked nice did her harm. She did not think so. "But what if", I asked, "if that woman had recently been victomized by a man, and I , as a man, by saying she looked nice, caused her to flash back to that terrible experience?" Had I done her harm? Possibly. Was it "wrong" to tell her she looked nice? I don't think so.

But again, without a solid moral compass, there is nothing guiding the ship. Without a guide, whatever is good for me has to be good. So we have those on the left seeing GWB as evil incarnate. ANYTHING is permissable as long as the goal of getting him out of office is achieved. If this means scaring people into not voting, all the better. There is a certain superiority in "knowing" what you are doing is right and just and the commoners just don't know what's good for them.

Am I saying I would like to go back to the 18th century in terms of morals? Maybe, but I don't pretend that it is even possible. What I would like to see is Christians speaking out more on moral issues and making their voices heard. If we belive that there is a basis for morality and righteousness, then we should "put our money where our mouth is" and take that chance to speak up.
